Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge), Shri Gautam Kumar Dak, inaugurated the newly established ‘Sahakar Gallery’ on Thursday at the Rajasthan Institute of Cooperative Education and Management (RICEM) campus, set up under the International Year of Cooperatives-2025. He cut the ribbon to open the gallery and appreciated the information displayed.
The gallery, established by the Cooperation Department with the support of NCCF, presents the journey of the cooperative movement in an attractive format. Shri Dak said the gallery, which highlights the glorious history of cooperation, will serve as a source of inspiration for visitors. The exhibits not only showcase the history, achievements, and innovations in the cooperative sector but also demonstrate how small collective efforts can lead to major social transformation.
The Minister added that cooperation is not merely an economic model but a movement based on the values of social justice, participation, and transparency, which strengthens the foundation of the nation. He said the state government is committed to connecting more farmers, women, youth, and small entrepreneurs with the cooperative movement to enhance their economic empowerment. He expressed confidence that the Sahakar Gallery will serve as a knowledge center for cooperative members, students, and the general public.
Highlights of the Sahakar Gallery:
The gallery presents extensive information on cooperatives using clipboards, acrylic sheets, vinyl prints, photo frames, and digital screens designed with elements of Rajasthani culture. The information is divided into various sections, including an introduction to the International Year of Cooperatives, principles and objectives of cooperation, and quotes by notable personalities. Another section showcases the origin and development of the cooperative movement—from its roots in ancient Indian traditions to the beginning of cooperative movements worldwide, in India, and in Rajasthan, covering both pre- and post-independence legislation.
Additional sections highlight the relevance of cooperatives in the present context, the current cooperative landscape in Rajasthan, key achievements under the concept of ‘Prosperity through Cooperation,’ and the three-tier cooperative structure along with major state cooperative institutions.
Historic photographs and certificates of Rajasthan’s cooperative societies, along with visuals of major activities under International Year of Cooperatives-2025, are also displayed attractively.
Officers and employees of the Cooperation Department and cooperative institutions attended the inauguration of sahakar gallery.
