Rajasthan’s Constitution Day Wedding: Simplicity That Echoed Across the State. Two Young Judicial Officers Tie the Knot in a Simple Ceremony on Constitution Day, Setting an Example for Society.

A rare and heartwarming scene unfolded at the District Collectorate on Constitution Day one that surprised and deeply moved everyone present. There was no noise, no band-baaja, and no lavish display. Instead, two young judicial officers solemnised their marriage by taking the Constitution itself as a witness to their lifelong union.

Hemant Mehra of Gunta Shahpura in Bansur and Kareena Kala of Hanumangarh both serving judges chose a simple, dowry-free wedding, consciously avoiding unnecessary extravagance. Their marriage was not just a ceremony; it was a message to society:

“If those who deliver justice can embrace simplicity, why can’t society?”

Choosing Constitution Day for a Purpose

Civil Judge Hemant Mehra is currently posted at Chauth Ka Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, while Kareena Kala is a trainee judicial officer. The couple shared that, being part of the judicial services, they regard the Constitution as supreme. To honour this belief, they chose to get married on Constitution Day itself.

Their decision and the simplicity of the ceremony have been widely appreciated, setting an inspiring example of values, humility, and social responsibility.
